About Student Deals Lab

Student Deals Lab is an independent, single-editor research site for students comparing software discounts, education plans, free trials, and verification rules. The site is edited by Yushouren, founder and editor of Student Deals Lab, and accepts corrections at [email protected].

Every tool page starts with the vendor’s own pricing, education, student, help-center, or terms page. We record whether the offer is self-serve, institution-dependent, third-party verified, discontinued, or simply not publicly confirmed. If a coupon site claims a discount but the vendor does not publish matching terms, the page labels that claim as unverified rather than treating it as a deal.

The research process is intentionally conservative: check official sources first, separate confirmed facts from reported claims, note verification methods such as SheerID, UNiDAYS, Student Beans, GitHub Education, WHED, or school email, and call out renewal rules, commercial-use limits, device limits, credit expiration, and post-graduation changes.

Each tool page links directly to the official source or sources used. Comparison guides are built from those underlying tool pages and include a source summary so readers can trace a recommendation back to the vendor documentation behind it.

This site does not currently have paid affiliate or sponsorship relationships with any vendor listed on the site. Display ads through Google AdSense, if approved, are intended to cover hosting and research time and do not change whether a discount is labeled confirmed, limited, unavailable, or unverified.

We avoid publishing private account screenshots, leaked offers, or unsupported coupon codes as confirmed deals. If an offer is visible only after a student logs in, we describe it as account-dependent unless the vendor also publishes public terms. If a third-party verification service distributes the discount, the page names that service and explains that the vendor may not run a separate student page.

For "no student discount" pages, the goal is not to rank for a missing coupon. The goal is to save students time by making the absence of a confirmed public offer explicit, then pointing them toward free tiers, school-provided access, or better-documented alternatives.

Pages are updated when official terms change, when a reader reports a correction, or when a program becomes newly available, paused, or discontinued. If a page is stale or a vendor has changed its student terms, email [email protected] with the official link and we will review it.

Corrections are handled by re-checking the linked official source, updating the affected page, and changing the recommendation when the new evidence changes the student decision. We prefer a smaller set of verified pages over a larger list of thin coupon claims.

The most important editorial rule is that "discount" does not always mean "cheaper personal subscription." Some offers are free education licenses, some are cloud credits, some require a school-wide contract, some are third-party verification offers, and some are only outdated rumors. The site is designed to make those differences visible before a student creates an account or enters billing details.

Student Deals Lab is intentionally narrow. We do not review every consumer coupon, every software category, or every country-specific promotion. We focus on software and online services where students commonly search for education pricing and where official terms can be checked in public.
